The Titan Composite Lid & Frame system by Pennine Manufacturing is a patented solution designed to improve performance, safety, and ease of use in access chamber covers. Unlike traditional heavy lids, the Titan system uses mid-span support struts to reduce deflection under vertical loads, allowing for a lighter lid without compromising strength. These struts transfer forces downward into the surrounding ground, reducing road surface wrinkling caused by braking vehicles.

The frame’s extra depth reduces the need for chamber rings, and the system fits all Pennine and compatible access chambers. The struts rotate and lock flush with the chamber walls, ensuring they do not obstruct access. The lid includes a double-lock system, lifting keys, and anti-tamper features for safety. Most stresses are compressive, improving product longevity. Installation is straightforward, and the system is compliant with EN124 C250 standards.
