Pennine Top Hat Units – Rigid & Flexible Forms

Pennine’s Top Hat units are preformed pipe sleeves engineered to create airtight seals around service pipe penetrations. These units are available in two forms:

• Rigid Form: Made from durable polypropylene
• Flexible Form: Made from TPE and includes a stainless steel Jubilee clip

Both versions are lightweight (only 0.2kg) and offer a cost-effective alternative to steel Top Hats, while maintaining high-performance standards.

Applications

• Sealing around 110mm pipes passing through membranes
• Use in attenuation tanks
• Where a 110mm pipe meets a perpendicular surface

Installation Guidance

1. Cut a hole in the membrane close to the pipe (avoid membrane joints).
2. Slide the Top Hat over the pipe and mark the membrane around the unit.
3. Apply 4 lengths of double-sided jointing tape to the marked area and one around the pipe.
4. Remove tape coverings and lower the Top Hat into position.
5. Press to seal the horizontal skirt to the membrane.
6. Use single-sided tape to seal the skirt edge and secure the Jubilee clip.
